The City of La Crosse WI is recruiting for the position of AIRPORT OPERATIONS COORDINATOR at the La Crosse Regional Airport. This position involves performing a variety of specialized and detailed tasks in support of Airport Operations, Aviation Security, Public Safety, and Emergency Preparedness. Position responds to aircraft fire emergencies, operates aircraft fire suppression equipment, complies with Transportation Security Regulations Parts 1540 and 1542 and Federal Aviation Regulations Part 139, and completes various logs and reports. The perfect candidate for this position is a team orientated self-starter who has the drive and desire to learn on a daily basis and to master the various skills needed in airport operations. Candidates must be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as individually with minimal supervision. Customer service skills are a must as the Airport values positive interactions with all of our customers including internal stakeholder, tenants, and airline passengers.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of Airport Operations experience required; or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Preference will be given for a 4 year college degree in Aviation Management. Strong customer service skills required. Ability to complete ARFF certification. Ability to complete and maintain Non-Federal Weather Observation certification in accordance with FAA requirements. Must possess valid unrestricted driver’s license. Ability to pass rigorous background security check to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge. Selected candidate subject to post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, physical and physical capacity screen.
This is a full time position with irregular working hours including 24.5 hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. Starting hourly wage for this non-exempt position is $11.87 - $12.53 per hour ($40,703 - $42,968 annually), depending on qualifications. All hours paid are considered hours worked for overtime calculations. Additional Salary Information: Salary is the starting range. In addition to base salary this position provides paid holidays and additional overtime availability.
