Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) is seeking motivated candidates for the position of Operations Specialist. This entry-level position is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient day to day operations of the airport. Qualified candidates will be self-motivated and able to prioritize duties efficiently. A working knowledge of FAR Parts 77, 139, TSR 1542, and 150 Airport Series Advisory Circulars, in addition to all other applicable statutes, regulations, and requirements, is required. Duties include but are not limited to airfield inspections, responding to airport alerts, snow removal, safety and environmental compliance, emergency response, NOTAM management, wildlife management, airport driver training program management, and other duties as assigned.
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an aviation related field. Candidates must have the ability to interact effectively with the public and airport stakeholders. Prior experience with a Fixed Base Operator (FBO), airline, air cargo carrier, airfield maintenance, and/or airport emergency services and possession of a Private Pilot Certificate is desirable. Candidates must be available for night, weekend, rotating, or irregular shift assignments. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe or other applicable software required. Must be able to pass a criminal history background check and obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport.

FWA is also the home of the Indiana Air National Guard 122nd Tactical Fighter Wing and is served by FedEx and UPS.
