The Airport (Colorado Springs Airport) seeks an Administrative Technician to perform a variety of highly responsible and complex administrative support and/or clerical accounting duties.

Essential Job Functions:
Review for accuracy and completeness and process the Airport Identification Badge/Access Media applications
Interpret TSA (Transportation Security Administration) and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations to ensure proper authorization and identification of airport users
Determine appropriate access level and issue identifications in accordance with TSA approved Airport Security Plan
Conduct security training and airfield driving classes for airport tenants, employees, and contractors ensuring compliance with TSA and FAA guidelines; incorporate new TSA and FAA guidelines into class curriculum
Create and administer a system to ensure random selection of regulatory system access audit pools; monitor audit records to ensure random selection and timeframe accuracy; and ensure that the summary of results is written in accordance with 49 CFR part 1542
Ensure contractors meet proper insurance levels for accessing the airport operations area
Ensure ground transportation providers meet requirements established by the Public Utilities Commission and the Airport
Issue AVI (Audio Video Interleave) transponders and maintain all permit applications
Conduct and/or attend meetings internally and externally
Administrative support methods
Advanced report preparation, filing, and record keeping techniques
Technical accounting principles and practices
Modern office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers, supporting software (especially Microsoft Excel), and electronic fingerprinting
Maintain a variety of files and records
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Successful candidate will have:
A high school diploma or GED
Specialized training in office administration, accounting, or other related field
Three years of full-time administrative support and/or clerical accounting experience
Ideal candidates will also demonstrate:
Experience which demonstrates knowledge of TSA regulations
Experience which demonstrates knowledge of Airport security plans
Supervision Exercised: Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees.
Fiscal Responsibility: You will prepare accounting, budget, employment actions, and purchasing documents and complete research to justify language used in documents for the department.
Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids: Computer, printer, copier, telephone, and standard office equipment.
Specialized Computer Equipment and Software: Microsoft Office.
The selected candidate must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history records check as required by the TSA.
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
