The Facilities Development Department is looking for a motivated, team player to join their team as a Project Manager. The position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing tenant and capital improvement projects, and staff responsible for the review, approval, and implementation of multiple small, mid and large sized projects of moderately complex nature, from concept through construction and closeout. In addition, the Project Manager collaborates and coordinates design and construction activities with multiple stakeholders and provides input to management on design and infrastructure development.
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in architecture, project management, construction management or a closely related field; and at least eight years of progressively responsible experience in a public agency or consulting organization focused on program management, project management, construction management and design, at least three of which were in a management capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Management experience in a medium or large airport is preferred.
The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority was created on January 1, 2003, as an independent agency to manage the day-to-day operations of San Diego International Airport and address the region’s long-term air transportation needs.
The legislation that created the Airport Authority mandates three main responsibilities:

?Serve as the region’s Airport Land Use Commission – and ensure the adoption of land use plans that protect public health and safety surrounding all 16 of the county’s airports.
The Airport Authority is governed by an appointed board of nine members who represent all areas of San Diego County and three ex-officio members. Three members serve as the Executive Committee.
