What does a Manager of Emergency Response do for Allegiant? The Manager of Emergency Response is responsible for developing and implementing procedures, equipment and logistical support for Allegiant Air’s emergency response program. This position reports to the Director of Safety Management Systems.
What are the minimum requirements to be a Manager of Emergency Response? • Education requirements – Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience required.
• Work Experience – Minimum of two years’ airline experience required. Experience in emergency response planning required. Experience coordinating cross-company projects is preferred. Experience in training and airline operations preferred.
What other skills, knowledge, and qualifications are needed to be a Manager of Emergency Response? • Must have a thorough knowledge of the Aviation Disaster Family Assistance Act of 1996 and related NTSB, FAA, and DOT directives • Must have a thorough knowledge of airline operations • Excellent communication skills required; technical writing experience preferred • Must have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure • Must have demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail • Must pass a background check and five (5) year pre-employment drug test • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986
What are the physical requirements of a Manager of Emergency Response? • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position. • Must be able to travel 25% to participate in industry conferences, conduct training and join airport triennial drills at Allegiant locations
