Evansville Regional Airport is looking for an individual that is motivated, and inspires motivation to lead its Airfield Maintenance Department. The Airfield Maintenance Chief supervises a team of eight and directs the activities by developing work schedules, establishing job priorities, and directs crews in all aspects of airfield and Airport facilities maintenance operations. The Chief directs and participates in the operation of equipment and shops, requisitions necessary parts and materials, and documents work progress and completion. They direct and participate in the work of airfield maintenance workers in maintaining runways, taxiways, ramps, grounds and facilities on the Airport. As a supervisor, they assist the Director of Operations and Maintenance in planning maintenance and repair programs. The Airfield Maintenance Chief serves as Snow Removal Coordinator during Winter Operations conditions coordinating not just the snow removal operations but ensuring proper field condition and NOTAMs are issued.
Broad knowledge of the materials, methods and techniques commonly used in construction and maintenance activities, and particularly those applying to airfields. Broad knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work.
Graduation from standard high school or vocational school required.Bachelor’s in Aviation or supervisory airport maintenance experience preferred.
Supervisory skills such as the ability to layout and direct complex projects; ability to understand and effectively carry out written and oral instructions, including engineering plans and specifications; ability to keep records and to prepare work and time reports through various computer programs as needed.
