The Broward County Aviation Department which manages the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and North Perry Airport (HWO, a general aviation facility) seeks a dynamic experienced professional to manage various major projects within the Airport's Capital Improvement Projects Section. The Construction Project Management Supervisor will perform advanced professional and administrative work with supervisory responsibilities in the management of Airport projects for the County.
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in architecture and/or engineering or closely related field. Requires six (6) years in professional architectural or engineering work, including four (4) years of experience in project management appropriate to the area of assignment. Requires Registration as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect based on area of assignment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work involves responsibility for providing overall direction and administration of construction projects through design consultants and contractors. It includes planning, assigning and reviewing the work of a professional staff of Construction Project Managers. Emphasis of the work is on development of policies and procedures to ensure success in the monitoring of the work of architectural and engineering consultants and contractors engaged in the design and construction of a variety of complex county structures and related projects.
Incumbents exercise considerable independent judgment in the application of the principles and practices of planning, design, construction and administration of a variety of construction projects. Assignments usually are received in the form of broad instructions or general program objectives. Supervision may be exercised over professional architects, engineers, sub-professional assistants, construction, inspection, maintenance or related clerical operations. Work is reviewed for general adherence to established guidelines and procedures.
· Experience in the procurement and management of Airport projects
· Experience using Prolog
· Experience in negotiating design and construction contracts
· Passed security background check
· Airport Operations Area ramp driving training
· Experience using Primavera Scheduling software
· Master's Degree in Engineering/Architectural/Aviation or Construction Management
· Accredited Airport Executive (AAE)
· LEED Certified
· Large Hub Airport experience relating to design/construction
