The Port is actively recruiting for the position of Senior Equipment Systems Engineer. The Senior Equipment Systems Engineer is a working foreman position responsible for supervising and working with a staff of subordinate workers engaged in the operation, maintenance and repair of electrical/mechanical equipment and systems in Port facilities and in the provision of building services. The incumbent directly supervises and works with craft, technical, skilled, semiskilled and unskilled workers.
The minimum requirements for this position includes graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by specialized courses in electrical or mechanical engineering, building system trades or related fields PLUS four years of progressively responsible experience in skilled operation, maintenance, repair, and alteration work on a variety of building and equipment systems, such as steam heating plants, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment in modern multi-storied buildings. Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
