Responsible for administration of the organization’s overall technical infrastructure. Duties include: providing daily support of infrastructure, managing overall uptime and system availability, planning and executing routine infrastructure activities to support the VMware virtualization platform. System support: •Virtualized and physical infrastructure (servers, desktops, appliances, switches) •Telephone and paging system support for staff, tenants, and all other affected parties •Shared use passenger processing systems •The deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of all IT systems including: email, backup, disaster recovery, access control, airline shared-use systems, flight information data systems, telephones, fire alarms, wireless systems, paging, virtualized servers & desktops, SANs, switches, routers, and licensing. •Ensuring staff, tenant, and customer support on all IT systems on a 24 hr x 7 days/wk x 365 days/year basis recognizing that the Airport operates on a non-stop basis and that IT is an integral part of that operation.
4 year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a Computer Science, data processing/information systems or related field or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
VMware Certified Professional (must be able to attain within one year in the position)
Additional IT certification(s) that distinguishes skill set on network security.
4 years of progressive IT experience OR 2+ years of relevant System/Network Admin IT experience. Certifications and/or advanced degrees may be used for partial substitution of education or experience requirements at the discretion of management.
Possesses an excellent knowledge of and diagnostic abilities with common hardware, software, and networking technologies associated with Microsoft Windows, Cisco, and VMware environments.
This individual must have proven experience and skills specializing in the configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS. Applicant will possess knowledge of VMware ESXi and basic configuration skills of Cisco layer 2 and 3 switches.
Familiar with common physical data cabling, specifically Twisted Pair, Single and Multi-mode Fiber.
Familiar with SANs (Storage Area Networks), server documentation and maintenance of backups, errors and security procedures.
Ability to independently analyze and solve routine computer related problems. Ability to read a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, methods and procedures, such as technical manuals, software manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints, product documentation and related materials.
