Garver is seeking an Aviation Planner to support our growing Aviation team. The location for this position is flexible. This position will work with Garver's Aviation Planning team and will be responsible for completing technical planning elements and their supporting documents for Part 139 airports as well as general aviation facilities. Planning elements may include, but are not limited to, forecasting, capacity analysis, facility requirements, alternatives development and CIP planning for master plan projects and other planning studies. Airfield planning will be a major focus of the position, but responsibilities will also include elements of landside access, ground transportation, vehicle parking, cargo, and support areas planning. System planning elements are also included in the list of possible planning assignments.
Responsibilities in the role include but are not limited to: •Performing planning activities as part of a larger planning team •Participate in and direct the production of high quality exhibits and documents to communicate the results of the planning study elements •Contribute significantly to the overall success of the team and team’s projects •Pursue certification (AICP, AAAE CM, PMP) as appropriate
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, aeronautical science, planning, engineering, or a related field
3 -5+years of experience in aviation planning for Part 139 airports or similar experience
Technical expertise in standard planning procedures and approaches.
Knowledge of FARs, FAA Advisory Circulars, and FAA orders that apply to airport planning
Proficient in modeling, design and publication programs useful to airport planning document production
Ideal candidates will have the ability to: •Work well with others in a team environment •Prioritize work and meet scheduled deadlines •Strong verbal and written communication skills •Work independently with minimal supervision
