|Responsibilities (Essential Functions) •Responsible for safety and environmental policy oversight for the Facilities Department. •Manages through subordinate supervisors, employees performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, alterations, repair, installation, inspections, custodial and preventive maintenance. •Responsible for ensuring the supervision of outside contractors hired to perform contract services. •Monitors facilities, equipment and grounds for maintenance needs; assigns work, inspects work in progress to ensure compliance with safety, plans and specifications, building code requirements and acceptable standards. •Responsible for the accuracy of payroll and attendance records. •Responsible for reviewing and approving departmental disciplinary actions. •Receives and investigates complaints from the public and airport tenants concerning airport conditions and assigns subordinates to correct the conditions. •Work with facilities supervisors in the development of preventive maintenance and safety programs. •Prepares specifications for new equipment and assigned projects. •Review drawings and specifications for all airport construction projects. Inspects ongoing construction to ensure that specifications and drawings are adhered to. •Responsible for the maintenance of airfield runways and taxiways to ensure that the airport is in compliance with 14 CFR Part 139. •Responsible for the training program for the airport facilities department; evaluates and establishes training requirements needed for the development of facilities personnel. •Responsible for the preparation and administration of the facilities department operating budget. •Review invoices to ensure expenditures are applied to correct cost centers. •Responsible for implementing snow and ice removal activities. Manages the Snow and Ice Control Center during snow and ice events. •Responsible for hazardous and universal waste management and record keeping. •Responsible for the compliance of various environmental regulations •Responsible for any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the VP/COO |
Education Requirements (Evaluation Factors: Skills, Education, Experience, Ability) •Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree in industrial maintenance, facility management or related field or five years of equivalent experience with a minimum of five years with progressively increased levels of management responsibility in a large commercial, industrial, office or public building; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Working Conditions •Physical Demand - Must be physically able to use the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required of the job. Worker will be exposed to heat, cold, rain, snow and icy conditions. Works near mechanical and electrical equipment, risk of electrical shock. Exposure to flammable, toxic and caustic chemicals. Exposure to heights and may be required to work from ladders and lifts. Must maintain physical fitness pertinent to the work. May be exposed to noise levels greater than 55db. All necessary Personal Protective Equipment will be provided by the airport. •Mental and/or Visual Demand - Mental and visual demands are high and vary with function performed. Consistent mental attention needed to respond safely and efficiently. Frequent work or travel in or near roadways, parking areas, and aircraft ramp areas require constant vigilance of vehicular, aircraft and equipment traffic. •Attentiveness to work procedure will reduce potential risk of injury in work areas. •Exposed to normal office environment and normal aviation/industrial environment. •This position requires uncommon tours of duty to include but not limited to weekends and holidays, rotating shift assignments and overtime duty. •Will be subject to recall after normal duty hours. •Must demonstrate the desire and willingness to continue training and upgrading knowledge needed to stay abreast of changing technology. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibility •Supervision of four subordinate managers/supervisors, one administrative assistant and approximately thirty maintenance personnel.
