Develops, implements, and directs all facets of the Airport Security Program (ASP) to ensure compliance with standards and specifications mandated under Transportation Security Administration Regulations CFR 49 part 1542 and 1544 pertaining to the safety and security of a commercial airport. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing the day-to-day operations and performance of Airport Security, including Regulatory Compliance and ID Badging. Analyzes, develops, and /or revises existing components of the Airport Security Program in response to continual and ongoing revisions of TSRs 1542 and 1544. Acts as liaison between the airport and the TSA, Home Land Security, local law enforcement entities, airlines, tenants, and others. Develops section budget and monitors expenditures. Supervises the performance of the assigned staff; develops and monitors employee work-plans; counsels, coaches, and instructs employees, and; prepares performance evaluations. Assists with staff hires, promotions, and disciplines, when appropriate.
Five (5) years of full-time paid progressive security experience at an airport is required
Demonstrated experience with ASP and skills in security for a large commercial facility and oversight of regulatory compliance with Federal regulations is required.
Experience with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulatory compliance requirements.
Accrediation(s) from American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and/or International Airport Management Accrediation Program (AMPAP) preferred but not required.
Effective leadership skills required.
Proficient oral, presentation, and written communication skills including proposals, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals required.
Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills required.
