Jackson County has an immediate opening for an experienced individual to manage the operations of our 700-acre airport located just south of I-94 in Jackson, Michigan. The Airport Manager, operating under the supervision of the Airport Board and the County Administrator/Controller, plans, coordinates, and monitors all activities related to the operation and maintenance of the County airport. Essential functions include but are not limited to: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding airport operations, security, and zoning. Supervising staff engaged in maintaining airport facilities and equipment to ensure a high level of service. Works with the Airport Board and County Administrator to promote airport services. Operates airport vehicles and maintenance equipment as necessary.

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
Experience: Four to five years of experience in airport operations which provided familiarity with state and federal laws related to airport operations.
Other Requirements: Valid Michigan Driver’s License; CDL desired, Storm Water Operator certification within first year of employment
Additional Salary Information: SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE. All benefits effective date of hire.
