Typical duties: •Maintain the Airport to FAA standards, enforce City ordinances, airport rules and regulations; •Perform skilled/semi-skilled labor in the maintenance/repair of airport buildings, hangers, pavement, airfield lighting, security lighting/fencing, and other facilities and grounds; •Perform daily inspections of all airport safety, security and operational areas and equipment including runway/taxiways, airfield lighting, parking aprons, hangars, terminal buildings, fuel storage areas, perimeter fences, and gates for compliance with Federal, State and local airport rules and regulations; •Respond to, and operate emergency response vehicle, to provide assistance during aircraft emergencies (in conjunction with Fire, Police and FAA personnel), facility equipment failure, navigational aids, airfield lighting failures, building/structure emergencies, pavement failures, hazardous incidents and related emergency situations; •Maintain records, complaint resolutions, maintenance/repair logs, vehicle inspection forms, daily work logs, FAA inspection records, etc.; •Respond to routine questions/complaints/requests for service; initiate problem resolution
Necessary Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid appropriate Class "C" California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Ability to pass security background check.
Fluent in the English language to comply with federal language requirements (Federal Aviation Administration) when communicating on VHF radio communications equipment.
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
Experience at a general aviation or commercial airport in buildings/grounds maintenance and repair.
