Airport Manager Position for Washington County (Pennsylvania) Airport (KAFJ)
The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Washington is currently seeking qualified applicants for the Airport Manager position in Washington County, Pennsylvania. This Position requires considerable knowledge of general aviation management, FAA rules and regulations, Bureau of Aviation grant administration, Airport vendor and tenant negotiation procedures, legal requirements associated with Airport operations and runway/facilities maintenance, EPA regulations related to Airport projects, and partnerships and liabilities associated with Airport operations and practices.
This position supervises Airport staff, determines daily work assignments, resolves Airport safety issues, collects rents, ensures Airport maintenance is accomplished, and makes recommendations relating to the purchases of major equipment, hangar construction and location, lease agreements, Airport design issues, budget development and financial management.
This position reports to the Redevelopment Authority Economic Development Director.

A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airport Management or related field and two years of comparable experience (airport management preferred). Previous supervisory experience is required.

Established in 1940 by local business interests, the Washington County Airport has been under the jurisdiction of the County of Washington since 1955. It is a dynamic economic engine and regional aviation asset in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Located 30 miles south of Pittsburgh, the Airport is situated on 401 acres in South Franklin Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. It is one of the busiest general aviation airports in Western Pennsylvania with 50,000 annual operations. There are 85 based aircraft, 37 T-hangars, 10 corporate hangars and 7 aviation businesses. With a 5,004 foot runway, a parallel taxiway system, an Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS) and an Instrument Landing System, the Airport has all-weather capabilities to accommodate all types of corporate and general aviation aircraft year around.
The Washington County Airport provides a full range of aviation related services used by corporations, local businesses and the public, including fuel, charter, aircraft sales, major and minor maintenance, flight instruction, and aircraft storage/tiedown. There is one FBO.
