The Colorado Springs Airport Operations/Security Internship Program is designed to introduce future airport managers to the many facets of managing and operating a Commercial Service Airport. The Intern is assigned to work under the supervision of the Airport Operations Department and will be immersed in a variety of projects relating directly to airport operations and security. The Intern will gain experience in airfield safety and inspections, emergency response, snow removal, and airfield maintenance and construction. The program lasts 1,600 Hours, with two weeks of unpaid vacation. Anticipated Start Date is June 4, 2018. Bi-weekly pay of up to $1,024 for a 32 hour work week (50 weeks) or 40 hour week (40 weeks). The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is a city-owned, public-use commercial airport located in the heart of Colorado and is the primary-use airport for the Pikes Peak Region and Southern Colorado. The 3-runway airport is the second largest in the state and offers 13 nonstop flights with 5 airlines. Additional nonstop flights will be added in April 2018.
