The City of La Crosse, La Crosse Regional Airport, WI is recruiting for the position of AIRPORT OPERATIONS COORDINATOR at the La Crosse Regional Airport. This position involves performing a variety of specialized and detailed tasks in support of Airport Operations, Aviation Security, and Public Safety. Position responds to aircraft fire emergencies, complies with Transportation Security Regulations Parts 1540 and 1542 and Federal Aviation Regulations Part 139, and completes various logs and reports supporting airport operations. The perfect candidate for this position is a team orientated self-starter who has the drive and desire to learn on a daily basis and to master the various skills needed in airport operations. Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of Airport Operations experience required; or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Preference will be given for a 4 year college degree in Aviation Management or experience in aviation in general. Strong customer service skills required. Ability to complete ARFF certification with schooling provided by the Airport. Ability to complete and maintain Non-Federal Weather Observation certification in accordance with FAA requirements. Must possess valid unrestricted driver’s license. Ability to pass rigorous background security check to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge. Selected candidate subject to post-offer/pre-employment drug screen.
Candidates must be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as individually with minimal supervision. Customer service skills are a must as the Airport values positive interactions with all of our customers including internal stakeholder, tenants, and airline passengers.
This is a full time position with irregular working hours including 1 day on, 2 day off, 24.5 hour shifts (approximately 2,980 hours annually), nights, weekends, and holidays. The base wage for this non-exempt position is $41,926.16 - $54,990.62 annually and the maximum starting range is between $41,926.16 and $48,006.06 depending on qualifications. Holiday payments are in addition to the stated base pay! All hours paid are considered hours worked for overtime calculations.
