The Sr. Coordinator, Airport Operations is responsible for leading special projects and collateral duties in support of airport operational safety & compliance (Part 139) or aviation and air-side efficiency for John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK) and Bolton Field Airport (TZR). The Sr. Coordinator is responsible to assist with the performance of all operational and safety functions at the airport operating within established guidelines and procedures as needed.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business, public administration or related field. Equivalent education, work experience, knowledge and skills may qualify.
Two (2) years of civil aviation operations preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of airline and airport operations, fixed base operators.
Knowledge of airport administration and procedures.
Considerable knowledge of FAA certification requirements, policies and procedures: 14 CFR Part 77 and 139, TSR 1542 and 1544 and applicable Advisory Circulars and Security Directives
Ability to perform deice pad control duties to include:
Aviation radio communication to multiple aircraft
Sequencing of aircraft taxi activity on terminal ramp area
Assigning instruction to pilots
Knowledge of aircraft types and flight call signs
Providing vehicle follow-me services
Tracking aircraft data under stressful conditions
Providing good customer service with a calm demeanor during periods of increased activity and/or stressful conditions.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work shift work, including weekends and holidays, on a rotating basis
Ability to work overtime and be flexible with work hours.
Ability to be on-call and respond on a 24 hour basis.
Crisis Management skills
Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine a proper course of action to be taken in an emergency situation
Ability to plan and coordinate multiple activities occurring simultaneously
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing, applying and interpreting policies and procedures
Ability to identify various aircraft.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, representatives of other agencies, and the general public.
Ability to type and operate computer equipment.
Demonstrated ability to use wildlife pyrotechnic devices.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY & REQUIREMENTS
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Some exposure to risk of accident and requires safety precautions.
