Knowledge of: FAA regulations and Advisory Circulars Federal, State and City accounting, purchasing and audit policies and procedures Human Resource management policies and procedures Principles, practices, and functions of airport management and organization Municipal budget preparation and analysis Economic Development; Modern office methods and procedures Principles of contract administration and grants management Federal, state and governmental agency laws and regulations pertaining to airport management and operations
Skills in: Lease negotiation and administration Contract administration; grant coordination Problem Solving, human relations and time management Organizing, preparing, and presenting information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Using Computers and standard business software Work well with others and participate fully in a team-oriented environment Respond appropriately to emergency situations Assist in the supervision and training of less experienced personnel Efficiently and effectively develop, manage and monitor grant funds Exercise initiative and independent judgment Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports Ensure user compliance with the various airport-related use agreements in a fair and equitable manner Develop and maintain effective working relationships Follow written and oral instructions.
Experience & Education Bachelor’s Degree in Airport Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Aeronautics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. Must have four years progressively responsible management or administration experience. Must have two years commercial service airport experience. Will have demonstrated extensive and varied aviation experience with strong leadership skills with emphasis on strategic planning, capital improvement projects, financial management, construction management, lease negotiations and community relations. A.A.E. accreditation preferred or AAAE Certified Member (CM).
