Oversees all aspects of Airport Operations including but not limited to; Airport Self Inspection; NOTAM management; Airport Certification Manual; Airport Signage & Marking Plan; Wildlife Hazard Management; Airport Layout Plan & Revisions; Prepares & submits documents as required to the FAA; Supervises operations employees whom also function as Fire Safety Officers & Maintenance Mechanics; Coordinates with contractors in all phases construction to assure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding safety, utility protection, vehicle access, and security; coordinates safety meetings and emergency training procedures; Planning, assigning, & coordinating activities of personnel involved in airport security, fire rescue, & maintenance; Coordinates and supervises airport operations pertaining to airlines, FAA, and all other operational related personnel; Coordinates and supervises airport personnel during snow removal operations and airport emergencies; Preparation of Grant Applications; Performs related work as required by the Dir. of Operations, Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner of Aviation.
Through knowledge of 14 CFR Part 139, 14 CFR Part 77, and 49 CFR Part 1542 and other applicable Federal regulations relating to air carrier and airport operations; thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration forms, format applications and required notifications, including the Federal NOTAM System, Air Traffic Control procedures and airport security procedures; thorough knowledge of air carrier/airport snow removal operational procedures, and safety standards as established by airlines and the FAA; ability to drive on the movement area and coordinate regular and emergency operations with Air Traffic Control personnel on operations matters during multiple general aviation and airline operations; ability to effectively communicate on VHF radio frequencies during normal and emergency airport operation; ability to plan, assign and coordinate the work of subordinates in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale; ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction; ability to complete multi-level governmental forms and applications; ability to maintain records and to prepare written reports; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Administration; or, graduation from with a Bachelor’s Degree and (2) two years of experience in airport operations, airport maintenance, and/or airport construction.
Note: 18 credits in Aviation Administration may be substituted for experience on a year to year basis (18 credits = 1 year). Supervisory experience preferred
Additional Salary Information: Starting Salary - $59,170 Note: Salary is base pay and does not reflect overtime pay.
