CLASS SUMMARY: Responsible for developing, implementing, overseeing, and managing KCAB's overall supply chain and inventory management strategy, policies, processes, and operations in order to maximize efficiency and productivity while fulfilling customer needs.
This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department. •Develop, implement, update, and maintain the overall supply chain and inventory management strategy to optimize the ability to meet departmental orders and forecasted needs and address warehouse locations and organization, stocking criteria and levels, sourcing, supplier accountability, and risks. •Create, maintain, implement, supply chain goals and metrics and be responsible for meeting these goals. •Oversees inventory to ensure that physical inventories are maintained. Manages the inventory replenishment process, analyzes changes to inventory levels, minimizes obsolescence, and manages inventory turns. •Develops, implements, updates, and monitors all new and existing policies and procedures for supply chain and inventory processes. Suggests and implements solutions for process improvements. •Ensures compliance with established procedures and maintains effective internal control over physical product flow and accounting of inventory areas. •Develops sourcing strategies to meet customer needs and minimize operational and financial impact. Communicates and negotiates with external suppliers. •Works with Procurement department to determine best suppliers and to develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and distributors. •Develops and maintains supply and distribution resources to meet customer needs. •Determines locations and configures warehouses for optimal efficiency and maintains and organizes onsite and offsite storage facilities. •Working with the Finance department, supervises and manages inventory counts (periodic cycle counts and year-end physical inventory counts), researches discrepancies, and ensures timely adjustments. •Creates, monitors, and acts upon regularly generated inventory reports regarding inventory status, transactions, and adjustments. •Serves as the primary point of contact for all inventory management issues and processes. •Responsible for all contract management activities in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management. •Staff management responsibility to include supervision, delegation and review of assigned work, hiring/terminating, performance appraisals, coaching/counseling, staff development, application of organizational policies and procedures. •Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field to the area of assignment and seven years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance.
Valid Drivers License.
Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training.
Logistics and supply chain management;
Inventory control procedures;
Hands on experience with supply chain management software;
ERP systems, including working knowledge of bar coding and radio frequency ID;
Demonstrated skill in using independent judgment; and,
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally with customers, agents, carriers, vendors, management, and other employees;
Demonstrated skill in negotiating and administering supplier agreements;
Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing and spreadsheets;
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks and projects with accuracy and attention to detail and follow through;
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and generate solutions quickly and accurately;
Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative, and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups;
Demonstrated skill in use of independent judgment; and,
Demonstrated skill in team leadership.
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, pushing, lifting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
