PURPOSE: Ensure there is reliable and resilient power and communications to for continuous operations of the airport. Provide leadership and direction to the Facilities and Infrastructure Electrical engineering group including employee engagement, performance management, hiring and professional development.

Asset Management -Electrical, Communication and Lighting Infrastructure
Ensure infrastructure systems can provide reliable and resilient power, communications and lighting to support airport operations 24/7/365, today and into the future by planning for future requirements and ensuring capacity projects are completed prior to being needed.
Ensuring aviation infrastructure standards are defined by total cost of ownership and are kept current and enforced via design review, application for connection and project inspection.
Asset condition is addressed with condition assessments based on criticality.
Address capacity by scoping and coordination with planning to ensure future requirements can be met prior to operational need.
Responsible for capacity, renewal and replacement projects and coordinate with asset management and capital programs.
Responsible for preparation, management and maintenance of configuration controls, system models, documentation, programming, proposals and as-built drawings.
Provide systems engineering, design, software development, integration, testing, commissioning and activation for complex electrical systems.
Provides technical direction, guidance, evaluation of new technologies, oversight, and presentations to the Aviation Utility, Maintenance, Aviation Operations, Project Management Group, Engineering, Finance and Business Development, and the Port Leadership Team as the electrical infrastructures system subject matter expert.
Staff supervision, hiring, and performance management of five (5) electrical engineers that plan and direct project managers, construction managers, maintenance, and capital liaisons in the execution of contracts for the expansion of power and communication, and develops and edits infrastructure strategy, standards, policies and development
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of personnel hiring practices, personnel supervision, policies and procedures, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, building codes, electrical and safety codes and technical expertise of electrical and communication systems, traction power train systems, 800MHz radio systems, engineering concepts, principles, designs, standards, practices, programming, integration, construction, testing, commissioning, activation, maintenance and appropriate codes.
The skills to effectively lead, plan/organize, communicate and coordinate with project teams. Strong skills in the following areas: persuasion, leadership, organizational, interpersonal, motivational, problem solving, strategic planning, critical thinking, decision making and presentation Demonstrates and displays strong customer service skills and leadership presence.
Ability to effectively develop, manage, supervise, facilitate, implement and execute operational and system requirements, designs, construction, tests, commissioning, activation, maintenance, and long-range strategic objectives and plans. Ability to manage, plan and develop projects, budgets, schedules and deliver quality projects. . Ability to implement business goals and objectives. Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS: Combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related from a ABET accredited university;
Ten (10) years of progressive experience in facility engineering in electrical systems in a large industrial or commercial facility with emphasis on power and communication distribution, generators, process controls, EGSE, fire alarms, conveyance, construction cost estimating, specification and design review; and
Professional Engineering License
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering; and
Ten (10) plus years’ experience in above listed essential functions at a large hub airport(s).
