The City of Lynchburg is seeking a dynamic leader who will play a vital role in the day-to-day management of Lynchburg Regional Airport. Under the general supervision of the Airport Director, the Assistant Airport Director - Finance and Administration performs complex technical and responsible senior-level management oversight of Lynchburg Regional Airport, and is directly responsible for the financial and administration functions of the Airport including accounting, operating and capital budgeting, capital improvement program funding, debt management, rate setting, human resources and payroll, procurement, properties, asset management, financial, statistical and regulatory reporting internal controls, procedures, and rules and regulations of the airport. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgement and administrative functions of a non-hub commercial service airport. Work is reviewed through conferences, reports, observations, and by results obtained and is subject to periodic internal and external audit. May also serve as Acting Airport Director in the absence of the Airport Director.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business or public administration, aviation management, or a related field with six years of professional financial, budgeting or accounting experience and three years commercial service airport finance and administration experience.
Certified Member (CM) designation with the American Association of Airport Executives, or ability to obtain within two years.
A masters degree in accounting, finance or a related field or possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) designation with the American Association of Airport Executives.

Lynchburg Regional Airport (LYH) is the primary commercial service airport serving the City of Lynchburg and the four surrounding counties with a service area population of over 264,000. The region hosts a range of international corporations, manufacturing plants, research and development firms and a several colleges and universities. LYH has an operating budget of $2.8 million & a multi-year capital program of some $21 million. Airline service is provided by American Airlines with 14 daily arriving and departing regional jet flights serving Charlotte Douglas International Airport with convenient flight schedules throughout the day. The airport is served by an FAA contract air traffic control tower that last year accommodated a total of 92,112 operations. The airport is also home to the Liberty School of Aeronautics’ flight training operation.
