RIAC is seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to oversee all aspects of operations, maintenance, fire and police at the organization across all sites in the portfolio.

In support of its vision and mission, RIAC has set six key goals in the following areas: Infrastructure; Economic Development; Finance; Customer Service; Communication, and; Organization.
RIAC comprises six state-owned airports – T.F. Green Airport and five general aviation facilities.
A minimum of 12 years of relevant airport experience, eight of which must have been upper-level management across two or more of the areas of primary responsibility for this role – airfield and terminal operations, maintenance, fire, and police.
Among these domains, brings core functional depth of knowledge and expertise in airport operations, ideally across both airfield and terminal operations.
Management level experience with budget and fiscal oversight responsibility; evaluation of business processes; and policy and decision-making experience including planning and organizing multiple programs, projects, and operations.
Ideally, but not necessarily, experienced working in a medium-hub context.
Direct experience working with federal agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Customs & Border Protection, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Experience working with law enforcement and first responder functions.
Has had sound exposure to and knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (Part 139), Advisory Circulars, and Regional and National Orders.
Experience with and comfort with working in a fast-paced and highly fluid environment.
Has worked effectively in multi-stakeholder settings, given the large number of constituents in an airport context.
Ideally, but not necessarily, experienced in winter weather markets and brings a sound knowledge of snow removal operations and emergency management techniques.
Experience working productively in highly unionized work environments.
Experience developing and leading a diverse workforce to achieve results that exceed expectations.
