Responsible to the Operations Manager for the efficient operation of Teterboro Airport. Manages the functions and activities of Operations department. Ensures the airport maintains operational adherence to the provisions of FAR PART 139. Responsible for implementing training programs for all Operations personnel, including new hires, FAR PART 139 regulations and weather observation training. Responsible for implementing effective training programs for all Maintenance personnel related to FAR PART 139 regulations. Responsible for training AvPORTS staff as it relates to training required under the organization’s respective OSHA related Health and Safety Programs, and other training needs. Provide snow removal coordination and/or oversight. Direct and oversee the Safety Management System (SMS) and all related initiatives. Responsible for directly supporting all Quality Management System (QMS) efforts including performing the function of management representative or similar position. May be required to perform duties as identified within the current Operations Supervisor job description.
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Business Management, Engineering or related field preferred. At least two (2) years’ experience in airport operations or related experience with at least one (1) year in a supervisory position. Demonstrated ability to function and supervise in a complex environment. Through appropriate training, must be able to qualify for NWS weather observations, and ability to operate heavy equipment including but not limited to snow removal vehicles. Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and sustain a valid driver’s license in the person’s state of residence and maintain driver record compatible with Company’s insurance company’s criteria. Comprehensive knowledge of computer operations, and FAA and related regulations, methodology and terminology. Ability to work in and support a teamwork environment, including the airport’s Safety Management System. Ability to work in a teamwork environment and support AvPORTS’ Quality Management System registered to ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001-2015 or related standard. If necessary, individual must be willing and be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Maintain currency in all FAA operational matters including Federal, State and Local regulations as they apply to Teterboro Airport and communicate information to staff. Continued ability to meet the necessary skills and qualifications to perform the duties of the Operations Supervisors position as identified within the current Operations Supervisor job description.
