Chief of Public Safety. Missoula County Airport Authority is seeking an organized professional to direct and supervise the day to day activities of the Public Safety Department. The Chief manages all activities of the Airport Public Safety officers, who have combined law enforcement, ARFF and operations duties. The Chief ensures the Airport's compliance with TSA Part 1542 and FAA Part 139 Regulations and Airport policies and procedures to ensure the safe, secure, orderly and efficient operation of the Airport. The Chief is responsible for all emergency contingency planning required under FAR Part 139. Responsible for training as required by FAR Part 139. Functions as an Airport Security Coordinator and is responsible for badging and credentialing functions required by TSA Part 1542. Responsible for establishing and monitoring departmental budget. Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in aviation administration, business administration or a related Public Safety field or equivalent relevant experience; three years’ experience as a Public Safety Officer or similar position at an airport; minimum of three years’ management experience; and the following certifications or ability to obtain within one year: • Montana Certified Peace Officer; • Certified ARFF; • Certified First Responder; • Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) designation; • Completion of AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Operations Program and Security Program or Certified Member (CM) program.

Additional Salary Information: This is a non-exempt position which will benefit from additional wages earned during overtime situations. Starting wage dependent upon qualifications. Missoula International Airport serves the western area of Montana, with a population of approximately 175,256.
