We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Manager that shares in our desire to expand the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority (GFIAA) by creating an exceptional experience for our guests and employees. Our Facilities Manager will oversee and direct the employees and contractors engaged in Facilities Maintenance and assist in ensuring compliance with all appropriate federal, state and local rules and regulations.
The Facilities Manager will direct teams that focus on each critical area and develop leaders and associates to create a comprehensive program and team. Functional areas within the scope of this position include preventative and corrective maintenance programs for Airport Authority owned facilities.
Licenses, certifications, or registrations required: Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must obtain and maintain AOA driving privileges. Facility Management Certification from International Facility Management Association, Building Owners and Managers International, or other industry recognized association strongly preferred.
Knowledge and ability: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with primary area of study in facilities management, property management, construction management, aviation management or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance in a commercial building setting, with a minimum of 3 years lead or supervisory capacity. 3 years’ verifiable experience using computerized maintenance management software systems for asset, inventory and personnel management.
Responsible for performing all job duties with due regard to safety and security requirements. Must be able to maintain a cooperative relationship with fellow employees, tenants and the public. Must conduct all duties with tact, in a firm but not argumentative manner, to be objective in all dealings with members of the public and airport tenants.
