ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Essential Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Take a leading role in the team that oversees and maintains RMMA's Part 139 Certification program • Plan, develop and revise safety, security, environmental, emergency, wildlife mitigation, noise mitigation, construction related, and operational programs. • Routinely inspect runway and other areas of the Airport to maintain a safe and efficient environment for aircraft.. (i.e. checking runway lights, asphalt, wild animals, and more). • Determine the procedures that will be implemented for all activities that take place on and around aircraft operating areas in accordance with FAA regulations. • Enforce local regulations, airport policies and FAA regulations for operational safety and security. • Determine the time, location and what activities can take place within the aircraft operating area. Resolve any unauthorized activities taking place on or around the airport. • Train new employees. Perform aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) services as need in compliance with FAA regulations. Determine when new employees are capable of safe and efficient operations on the airfield for day-to-day and emergency situations. • Plan, implement and lead snow removal operations and a snow team of seven people. Determine the safe use and condition of all airport surfaces. Notify FAA air traffic control, flight service, and pilots of current airport conditions. Prioritize the order of surfaces to be plowed. Perform airfield maintenance. Determine what actions need to be taken to ensure personal and public safety.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, Public Affairs, Public Service, similar degree, or a combination of education and experience. • One or more years of work experience in Airport Management, Airport Operations, or similar • Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter Certification within 6 months. Preferred Qualifications: • Certified member of AAAE • Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter Certification (ARFF) • More than one year of Airport operations experience • Snow removal experience • Airport snow closure experience Knowledge, skills, and attributes that would be beneficial and lead to success in this role include: • Self-Motivated • Growth mentality • Fast-Learner • Hard-working • Eager to learn • Leadership qualities • Great interpersonal skills • Great customer service skills
Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date, and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years.
Background check required. Colorado Driver's License at hire. Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Certificate within 6 months. Must be available to be on-call for special events and available to remove snow from landside and airfield as necessary.
