The San Angelo Regional Airport in West Texas is a commercial service airport with roughly 65,000 annual enplanements. It is a towered airport with over 80,000 annual operations. Daily jet service to DFW provided by American Airlines. San Angelo is a vibrant community with over 100,000 in population.
Under general supervision, manages the daily operations and maintenance staff of the San Angelo Regional Airport - Mathis Field (SJT); confirms compliance of airport activities with City, State, and Federal regulations. Assumes the duties of the Airport Director in his/her absence.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration or Public Administration; and four years’ experience in operations of an equivalent airport; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record; required to pass a background investigation.
Accreditation from the American Association of Airport Executives is preferred; or able to obtain within 3 years of hire.
Required Knowledge of:
City organization, operations, policies and procedures.
State and Federal codes and regulations relating to airport facilities and aviation operations, including FAA, TXDOT, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and OSHA safety standards.
Aviation program planning and development principles.
General aviation and airport operation methods, practices and security procedures.
Tools, materials, equipment, techniques and procedures used in maintenance and preventive maintenance of a general aviation facility.
Principles of record keeping and records management.
Occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Required Skill in:
Interpreting and applying airport operational and safety standards and procedures, applicable Federal rules and regulations, and City policies and procedures.
Interpreting customer needs and solving customer service issues.
Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with City employees, officials, and representatives from other local, state and Federal agencies.
Supervising staff, and delegating tasks and authority.
Operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.
