Airside Operations, Facility/Plant/Grounds Maintenance, Fire Fighter/Crash Rescue
This is a cross-utilized position with operations, maintenance and ARFF duties. Perform semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of airport vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Operate heavy, medium and light machinery; conduct periodic airport safety and security inspections; perform custodial and janitorial duties; work closely with airport tenants; make call-outs to the airport during non-duty hours; respond to the needs of the general public; perform any other related work as deemed necessary by the Airport Manager. You will be provided basic fire training which you must successfully complete in order to perform duties as a first responder for airport emergencies; complete and perform monthly Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) training and recurrent training; perform daily ARFF duties which includes providing standby firefighting coverage during commercial airline flights; be able to use the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) gear; ability to learn and operate three different ARFF trucks.
Work weekends and/or nights. Shift is Tuesday through Saturday.
Complete initial airport training to include self-study with an airport manual and 1-on-1 lecture;
Complete Initial 40-hours ARFF qualification course (eligible to attend 30 days after hire),
Receive: airport familiarization and periodic equipment and machinery familiarization and refresher training.
Complete: airport ground vehicle operator training and become proficient in proper aeronautical two-way radio communication.
Must pass physical fitness test in order to qualify as an ARFF first responder.

Additional Salary Information: Overtime paid after 40 hours worked per week. Work hours subject to change as air carrier schedules dictate. Required to take turns working on holidays and to respond to situations at the airport during non-duty hours. Overtime and call-outs during holidays may be required during winter snow removal operations. Approval of PTO requests from November 1st through March 30th contingent upon snow removal requirements and weather forecasts.
