General Professional VI (Airport Operations)- Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Oahu

This position serves as the Program Manager for all Airport Security Programs. The duties and responsibilities of the position includes ensuring all commercial service airports in Hawaii are in compliance with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security relations. Enforces federally mandated security programs and the control of access to all Airport property and restricted areas. Ensures the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other federal, state and local enforcement agency directives and security program requirements are effectively implemented and complied with to maintain the security, public safety and efficient operations of all airports and its facilities. Establishes long term vision and strategic planning for the State of Hawaii airports including Airport Security Program oversite.

Desirable Qualifications: Four-and-a-half (4-1/2) years of progressively responsible experience in the development of airport operations, security and safety programs. This position is responsible for the overall security management of the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, Airports Division. To qualify, you must meet ALL of the following requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, Criminal Justice or related field. General Experience: One (1) year of responsible professional work experience which required a high degree of analytical skill which involved gathering, evaluating and analyzing facts and other pertinent information required to resolve problems and/or to determine and recommend appropriate courses of action. Selective Certification Requirements (Airports Operations Experience): One (1) year of progressively responsible professional work experience in the development of airport operations, security and safety programs. In order to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position, applicants MUST possess demonstrated knowledge of policies and procedures governing airport compliance; TSA; Department of Homeland Security (DHS) security requirements and applicable programs; principles and practices of airport facilities; operations, management, emergency preparedness and response; planning and implementation of security programs, fiscal budget and the ability to establish policies and procedures. Supervisory Experience: One (1) year of formal supervisory work experience which included 1) Planning, organizing, scheduling and directing work of others, 2) Assigning and reviewing subordinates' work, 3) Advising subordinates on difficult work problems, 4) Training and developing subordinates, and 5) Evaluating subordinate work performance and disciplining when necessary. Special Requirements: 1) Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) Certification must be attained within six (6) months of date of hire 2) Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Security Certification must be obtained within six (6) months of date of hire Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. |
