The Aircraft Rescue Firefighter/Operations Coordinator is an all-encompassing position covering Aircraft Rescue Firefighting and Airport Operation duties during your assigned shift, operating within established guidelines and procedures. Duties to include, but not limited to, emergency response to aircraft incidents, medical emergencies, and performing various inspections to ensure compliance regulations with federal, state and local requirements for commercial airports. Other duties include aiding in responsibilities for all aspects of airport security/safety, coordinating and reviewing aircraft operations, as well as various community relations. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Manager of Airport Fire & Operations and indirectly by the Assistant Airport Director.   • Must be a Citizen or legally able to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must possess High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License
  • Must attend 40-hour basic ARFF training within 90 days of employment

  • DESIRABLE SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    • College level education in the following subjects: Airport/Aviation Management, Fire Science, or other related fields of study.
    • Basic Airport Safety and Operations Specialist (ASOS) certification
    • Firefighter I/II (IFSAC/ProBoard)
    • AZ EMT-B Certification
    • Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800
    • Willingness to attend continuing education classes to assure minimal standards are met
    • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as ARFF apparatus and airfield sweeper

The Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport serves the Tri-State area of Laughlin, NV, Bullhead City, AZ, and Needles, CA. The Airport is operated by the Mohave County Airport Authority, Inc. (MCAA) and is the 6th busiest airport in the state. Daily commercial charters are operated by Sun Country Airlines and Swift Air for the Riverside Resort and Harrah’s Laughlin. Additionally, the airport is the main base for Air Methods/Tri-State Careflight, a helicopter and fixed wing air ambulance company. Fixed base operations for general aviation, business aircraft, military and commercial flights are provided by Signature Flight Support.
