The ideal candidate will possess a diverse background in airport operations, security, maintenance and contract administration. We are looking for a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and possesses excellent communication skills. We are looking to build teams and partnerships to help better serve the Redding community and build our airline services.
• Understand the applicable laws and regulatory codes relevant to airfield security and operations. • Prepare, implement and maintain various airport security, operations, and maintenance manuals, policies and procedures. • Directly oversee preparation of documents required for obtaining grants and/or low interest loans, Federal and State funding and coordinating with FAA, TSA, State and City personnel. • Plan, organize, manage, and direct airport operations and maintenance activities, and supervise assigned personnel. • Typical experience would include Airport administration management, operations or security supervisory experience at a certified airport with a wide range of airport duties and responsibilities. • The position requires direct experience in the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of airports operations or security-related policies and procedures, and in program management. • At least one year of supervisory experience in personnel and/or program management is required. • Typical education would include graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field. • Accreditation with American Association of Airport Executives is highly desirable. • Possession of the appropriate valid California driver’s license, or ability to acquire one within ten days of appointment.

Veterans Credit:Veterans who have received an honorable discharge from the military service and receive a passing score on the examination will have 2 points added to their final examination score. To obtain this credit, veterans MUST provide a copy of the DD214, indicating honorable discharge, WITH EACH EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE.
Examination Process: An oral board examination will be administered.
