Plan, direct, manage and oversee the activities and operations of assigned Division of the Aviation Department including airside operations, security, airfield maintenance, ground transportation, and planning and construction of facilities for the City’s municipal airports; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Deputy Director of Operations.
Supervision Received And Exercised:
Receive general administrative direction from the Deputy Director of Operations.
Exercise direct supervision of management and lower level staff.
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, aviation science, public administration, , urban planning, or regional planning preferred; and
Eight (8) years of managerial experience in aviation operations preferred; and
To include five (5) years of supervisory experience preferred; and
Possession of at least one of the following accreditations or certifications: Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) or Certified Member (C.M.) or Airport Certified Employee (A.C.E.) in Airfield Operations, Security, or Communications or Airport Security Coordinator Certification (ASC).
