Preference will be given to applicants more than 2+ years’ experience in directly managing Operations & Maintenance. Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification, International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Certified Facility Manager and/or equivalent military certifications and a valid Texas driver’s license and comply with the City of Houston’s policy on driving, are a plus. Previous skills in the following areas are highly desired:
Solid understanding of Project Management methodologies, frameworks, terminology, and processes.
Developing recommended capital renewal plans to effectively maintain asset life cycle of assets and/or components.
Successfully management the technical performance of contractor and/or internal staff, financial performance, day-to-day Operations & Maintenance, Capital Improvement Projects or closely related field.
1 year experience in Fleet .
At a minimum of Four years or more Involved in general scheduling and review of work as a "working supervisor" or lead person .

The Project Manager is responsible to provide general supervision and coordination in reviewing contract compliance and future procurement, projects, agreements, plans and production and audits. This person will attend fleet and construction meetings, and bids and will issue proposals and plans and follow these projects to completion. The PM is responsible for ensuring the Operations and Maintenance service providers safely and efficiently fulfill all contractual obligations and follow all applicable City of Houston, State, and Federal codes and ordinances. Will supervise and direct technical personnel to develop and negotiate service contracts. Will administer, approve repairs and change orders. Will interface with departments and outside agencies or firms to discuss processes, programs and projects. Will serve as liaison between City personnel and contractors. Through effective management of resources, will ensure the reliability and sustainability of one of the Houston Airport’s major critical asset systems, Fleet Maintenance buildings, vehicles and equipment.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Project Management or a closely related field based on the responsibilities of the position. Considerable knowledge of design or construction is required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Four years of experience in construction, construction inspection, design, landscape design, geotechnical, environmental or a closely related field are required. Directly related professional architectural, construction or landscape design experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
