As a member of the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) senior management team, this position is primarily responsible for planning and directing all aspects of CAA’s financial services activities. The Director of Finance is responsible for establishing sound accounting policies and procedures, setting goals and objectives for the Accounting and Finance staff, and achieving all financial objectives of the CAA. The Director of Finance is a “hands on” position managing a staff of 10-12 employees and is responsible for training/guiding the staff in all financial activities. The position is expected to identify accounting best practices and implementing process change(s) to gain efficiencies while maintaining internal controls. Works on an interdepartmental basis with other managers and staff to achieve established organizational strategic goals and objectives.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance or a closely related field
Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressive professional experience in Accounting and Finance.
Five (5) years of experience in a managerial capacity in Accounting/Finance.
Considerable knowledge of GAAP/GASB accounting compliance
Proficient in MS Office Applications with advanced working knowledge of MS Excel
Working knowledge of accounting ERP systems (JD Edwards experience highly desirable)
Ability to lead, train and develop staff
Experience managing Treasury functions
Experience with management and placement of debt financing
Experience with airport/aviation related financial management activities a plus
Experience with real estate/property management activities preferred
The CAA owns and operates Bradley International Airport as well as 5 General Aviation Airports throughout the state of Connecticut and employs approximately 150 people. The CAA generates over $70 million in annual operating revenues and directs an annual operating expense budget in excess of $65 million. CAA Administrative offices are located at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT.
