Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications, this position leads the Strategic Communications team and serves as a key partner within the Strategy and Stakeholder Engagement Division. The division’s charter is to function as an in-house team serving as stewards of strategy, developing strategic communications and creating stakeholder champions to ensure the organization delivers on its mission, vision and strategic goals. The Strategic Marketing and Communications Department stewards a consistent brand voice, activates the brand to engage key constituents and supports revenue growth and passenger engagement through strategic campaigns grounded in research and analytics. This leadership position oversees the Metropolitan Airports Commission’s media relations, crisis communication and external communications programs and is responsible for all executive and internal communications. The position provides key presentation and messaging support and counsel to senior leaders throughout the organization.
Bachelor’s degree in a Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field
Ten years of work experience in marketing or communications with 5 years specifically in media relations, corporate communications or related field
Three years of experience managing and supervising direct reports which include responsibility for hiring, coaching, rewarding, disciplining and terminating employees
Demonstrated crisis communications management experience, with extensive knowledge on traditional Emergency Operations Center (EOC) roles and responsibilities
Direct media relations management experience
Direct experience supporting executive communication needs
Excellent verbal and written communicator with exceptional demonstrated political acumen
Strong emotional intelligence
Demonstrated skills in developing and executing effective multi-media public relations, corporate communications and external communications plans
Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
