Santa Clara County is hiring a full-time Airport Operations Worker (AOW) that will rotate between its two airports. Reid-Hillview airport is located in San Jose CA and San Martin airport is located 20 miles to the South.
Salary: $64,914 - $78,372

Under general supervision, the AOW performs a variety of airport service activities and maintains an airport in a safe and orderly condition.
Typical Tasks Meets airport users and provides information regarding tiedown, shelter space, airport facilities, and related information; Assigns aircraft parking spaces; Collect fees; Maintains the security of the airport; Inspects airport facilities for hazards; Issues NOTAMS; Emergency response; Maintenance and custodial duties; Requests airport patrons to observe rules and regulations; Operates light equipment such as tractors and pickup trucks; Maintains records; Aircraft fueling services; Performs related work.
The required knowledge and abilities are attained through the possession of a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in airport operations or airport maintenance work.
Completion of 60 semester units from an accredited college, 20 semester units of which are in the field of aviation.
Civil air regulations dealing with the operations of airports;
Safety and operational practices of an airport;
Computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet and/or database.
Interact effectively with the public;
Perform minor maintenance to airport facilities and grounds;
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
Santa Clara County in San Jose, California is the owner and operator of two General Aviation Airports, Reid-Hillview (RHV) and San Martin (E16). RHV is located about 5 miles from downtown San Jose, California, while E16 is located approximately 20 miles south of RHV in rural southern part of the County.
