The Ground Transportation Department has two Airport Traffic Officer Supervisor opportunities. The successful individual supervises and oversees team members engaged in the enforcement of airport traffic and parking regulations.
Example of Duties:
Provides day-to-day leadership and works with staff to ensure a high-performance, customer service-oriented work environment; plans and facilitates the development, improvement and implementation of processes and procedures; participates in the development of operation and strategies; provides technical assistance to others; ensures the consistent application of parking and transportation enforcement activities and transportation permits.
Oversees the selection and training of Airport Traffic Officers and Lead Airport Traffic Officers; establishes work priorities and routines; assigns work assignments for terminal curbside, Lost & Found; plans compliance inspection of for-hire and commercial vehicles; investigates and resolves complaints; interprets and communicates policies, procedures and regulations; investigates and resolves traffic and parking enforcement operation complaints.
Plans and evaluates the performance of assigned staff; establishes performance requirements and professional development targets; monitors performance and provides performance coaching improvement and team learning development; recommends compensation and performance recognition; subject to management concurrence, takes disciplinary action in accordance with work standards, procedures and labor contract agreements.
Ensures safe work practices and activities compliance with regulations and policy; enforces safety precautions are taken and protective gears are used; educates others safety requirements and safe working habits; participates in the preparation of operating budget; authorizes the purchase of materials; monitors expenditures to control costs; prepares and maintains records, logs, and reports.
Collaborates with others including law enforcement, internal and external stakeholders; responds to emergency situations; develops and implements work schedule; participates in meetings; prepares and maintains records, logs and reports, timecards, reports, operates vehicles for work related task; performs related duties as assigned.
An associate degree
Four years of traffic control experience of which two years were in a supervisory experience role in a union environment
Or an equivalent combination of training and experience
