If you’re beginning your career journey or performing at your peak level, we invite you to consider our aviation family for your career MDOT MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Director of the Office of Environmental Compliance and Sustainability (Dot Executive IV) within the Division of Planning and Engineering at the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assisting and supporting the Director in directing and supervising the work of staff, consultant teams, and contractors to perform required collaboration, and monitoring, of OECS’s environmental programs, compliance, sustainability, and noise sections.
Ensuring activities and operations at BWI Marshall Airport and MTN Airport and at MDOT MAA-owned properties are conducted in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local environment laws, regulations, and permit requirements.
Developing and ensuring the ongoing maintenance of processes and systems that monitor aircraft operations and airport-related noise levels in the communities surrounding BWI Marshall Airport and MTN Airport.
Monitoring sustainability program initiatives and plans to ensure all align with MDOT MAA business practices and strategic plan objectives.
Coordinating MDOT’s sustainability vision with MDOT MAA’s strategic plan and goals.
This position is located at BWI Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or a closely related field.
Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in environmental management including the development, implementation, and coordination of Environmental Compliance, Noise, and Sustainability Programs. One (1) year of this experience must have involved functioning as a team leader or overseeing the work of consultants or contractors in an environmental area.
U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
The ideal candidate will have:
Project management and Environmental Compliance or Sustainability Professional Training or Certification (e.g., Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Professional Certification, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting Credential, CDP Climate Change Survey Certification, or Integrated Reporting (IR) Fundamentals of Integrated Reporting Certificate.)
