Under the direction of the Airport Manager, the Assistant Airport Manager is responsible for engaging internal and external stakeholders regarding organizational strategy, airside business development including UAS operations and manufacturing, FBO development, industrial park development, air service development, planning, land use, outreach, marketing, advertising, and related programs. The incumbent will need to be comfortable presenting at public and community meetings. The position facilitates strategic planning, monitoring progress and prepares reports on organizational performance in achieving strategic goals and objectives. The Assistant Airport Manager also participates in airport operational functions and emergency response as needed. This individual will be called upon to meet with customers, tenants, elected officials, other government officials, business and civic leaders to discuss technical matters and future planning endeavors as well as working closely with internal and external stakeholders in support of timely achievement of strategic projects and initiatives. C.M. or A.A.E. preferred.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Understand all aspects of business administration;
Knowledge of the law regarding aviation, real estate and liability;
Working knowledge of a vast number of federal documents, rules and regulations;
Knowledge of airport management, planning, finance and operations includes security, safety, federal, state and local laws and regulations;
Ability to prepare and implement programs to meet objectives;
Ability to identify potential airport problems areas; analyze and define the problems and take appropriate action;
Ability to react quickly, effectively and accurately in any emergency;
Must have a total understanding of FAA Part 139; and
Effectively communicate and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, members of the public, and government and elected officials.
