Preference will be given to applicants with two years of supervisor experience. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in aviation operations; (airports, airline, air traffic control, or military). Consideration will be given to applicants with directly related experience in a stressful environment, airport operations, law enforcement, security, military, emergency management, customer service, and administrative skills within an aviation setting. Great business writing skills with excellent investigation report writing skills is desired. Working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49; Parts 1542 and 1544, Federal, State, and local aviation policies and procedures is highly desirable.

(AOS) ensures the efficient operations of roadways, terminal(s), and ground transportation activities by keeping management informed. Deploys staff for operational peaks/needs. Identifies impediments to keep a seamless operation. Stays abreast of changes with Federal, State, and local regulations related to operations of the airport. Provides a safe airport environment. Supervises airport incident response, perimeter, and terminal inspections. Monitors weather. Coordinates the elimination of hazards, control emergency responses, and participates in emergency preparedness events/activities. Maintains a secure airport environment. Enforces compliance from persons using airport facilities/services. Ensures compliance is achieved through enforcement of government regulations and airport operating procedures/requirements. Monitors security access points. Challenges airport badge holders attempting to bypass security procedures. Partners with tenants, contractors/government agency representatives. Extensive interaction with public/builds working relationships with tenants, vendors, and contractors based on trust, commitment, and proactively responds to concerns to identify a resolution to operational issues, without compromising customer service.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor degree in Aviation Management, Airway Science, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Four years of progressively responsible experience in airport operations of an airport are required.
Directly related professional experience involving lead or supervisory responsibilities my substitute for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
LICENSE/CLEARANCE Requires a valid Class C Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2).
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances while working at the airport.
