On behalf of our client (Georgia Department of Transportation), applications are being sought for the position of Assistant Aviation Program Manager. The primary duties of this position are to manage the State Airport Aid Program and the Federal Aviation Administration State Block Grant Program under the Airport Improvement Program. These Programs provide financial assistance to local governments that own and operate public use airports. The position guides the State’s responsibilities under these programs to include grant management, contracting with local governments, developing policy for program implementation, tracking progress on measurable goals, tracking and allocation of state and federal funds, and developing a staff of aviation project managers to fulfill the obligations
