Salary Details:
The salary range for this position is $122,470 - $189,800. Salary may be negotiated near, or above the midpoint of the range for the exceptional candidate, based on qualifications and experience. Clark County Department of Aviation offers an excellent benefit package, including retirement through Nevada PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System) and employees do not contribute to social security.

The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking a Managing Director – Airport Information Systems. You will report directly to the Airport Chief Information Technology Officer (ACITO). In this dynamic role, the Managing Director will provide strategic leadership for a wide spectrum of specialized technical teams, each integral to the efficient operation of the Airport. This responsibility encompasses overseeing the network, server, database, telecom, help desk, tech support, GIS, EAM, etc., across both Harry Reid International Airport and the General Aviation Airports. These diverse and skilled teams collectively ensure the seamless functioning of critical systems, infrastructure, and services, underscoring the vital role of technology throughout the comprehensive airport system within the Clark County Department of Aviation. 4-year degree in Aviation Management, Computer Science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field. 5 years of experience working with complex information technology.
The successful candidate for this position will have a 4-year degree in Aviation Management, Computer Science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred. They should have 5 years of experience working with complex information technology, including 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience for mid to large size technical specialists and support teams. Airport or other high volume, 24/7 operation experience is preferred.
The ideal candidate will showcase an extensive technical knowledge base that spans crucial domains, significantly contributing to our team’s capabilities. Their profound grasp of network architecture, server management, and telecom systems will enable them to make strategic decisions that optimize performance, scalability, and reliability across our expansive airport network. Moreover, their expertise in database administration and optimization ensures the secure and efficient management of our extensive data repositories. The Managing Director will also oversee and prepare the annual budget, ensuring effective project delivery in alignment with organizational goals. The candidate should also have knowledge of administrative principles and practices, goal setting, program development, implementation and evaluation, and experience developing, managing, and motivating teams. The candidate will also plan, supervise, and evaluate the work of others. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
The Clark County Department of Aviation is the largest
department within the government of Clark County,
Nevada, and is operated as an enterprise fund. LAS and
the four general aviation facilities in the Clark County
Airport System are owned by Clark County and operated
under the policy direction of the Board of County
Commissioners, the authority of the County Manager
and the management of the Director and Deputy
Directors of Aviation.
