Under the direction of the airport manager, assists with all aspects of airport administration including budget and procurement, airport security, and lands and leasing activities. The Deputy Airport Manager is assigned to the partially exempt service and serves at the pleasure of the Airport Manager.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position typically works Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Your office would be located in the Airport Administration Office. Must be available for after-hours meetings and emergency call out work.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees security enforcement and compliance issues including controlling access to all parts of the airport by issuing badges for employees, tenants, vendors and visitors; conducts background verification where required.
Develops and monitors the airport budget; tracks and accounts for expenditures; oversees requests for proposals and procurement issues; represents the airport at meetings with the Airport Board and the CBJ Assembly.
Oversees the Airport’s Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concession Disadvantage Business Enterprise (ACDBE) programs and submits required program updates, goals and reports as required by the Federal aviation Administration (FAA).
Represents the airport’s interests with Transportation Security Administration (TSA), FAA and other state, local and federal agencies; investigates and resolves disputes and compliance issues.
Assists and coordinates airport leasing activities; develops and updates the airport leasing policy and procedures; monitors and proposes regulation adoption and implementation; reviews lease agreements for consistency; represents the airport in contract negotiations; resolves tenant disputes and contractual conflicts; meets with tenants on fiscal planning and budgetary issues.
Recruits, selects, trains, and supervises assigned professional staff; develops work schedules; assigns duties based on ability and experience; evaluates performance and provides or arranges for training.
Assists with reviewing, investigating and resolving complaints received by the airport. Acts as Airport Manager in that person’s absence, including acting as Airport Incident Commander in the event of an emergency.
