The salary range for this position is $144,200 - $195,700. A starting salary above the mid-point of $169,950 is achievable for the exceptional candidate and will be dependent upon experience. ONT offers an attractive benefits package and will assist with relocation costs.
The Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) is seeking a Director of Planning to lead and innovate within the Planning Department. This role oversees airport planning and environmental planning, ensuring compliance, sustainability, and the successful execution of our capital improvement program. Reporting directly to the Chief Capital Development Officer, the Director of Planning will shape the future of ONT by developing and implementing strategic procedures, policies, and goals that align with the OIAA’s ambitious initiatives. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Airport Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field is required. Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable. Seven years of progressively responsible and recent professional experience in planning projects and programs, preferably at a FAA Part 139 Certified Airport, including a minimum of three years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Airport Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible and recent professional experience in planning projects and programs, preferably at a FAA Part 139 Certified Airport, including a minimum of three (3) years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Experience at a commercial airport and working with an appointed board or elected officials is highly desirable. Familiarity with and work experience in the Southern California region is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database programs.
