Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Aviation, this position assists in the daily operation of the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport. Duties include ensuring that the Department of Aviation and its' tenants are in compliance with federal, state, local and/or county regulations for the safe and orderly operation of the airport. Position is subject to twenty-four (24) hour work availability, including shift work, weekends, holidays, emergency calls, inclement weather, and special events. This position is considered weather essential personnel.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or a related field, with two years of experience at a commercial service airport preferred. NIMS ICS (National Incident Management System Incident Command System) 100, 200, 700, and 800 series training required or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Certified Member (CM) Airport Certified Employee (Ace), Ace Operations and Security, Airport Security Coordinator certificate, and Private Pilot's License preferred. Valid Texas Driver’s License required. Must be able to pass a TSA background check for airport badging.
Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, multifunction printers and multiline phone systems.
Excellent oral and written communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Skill in using a computer or tablet for data entry, word processing and presentation development.
Skill in using various software packages including Microsoft Office Veoci, Everbridge, PAVER, NOTAM Manager, CCure, Google Earth, andother industry specific software packages.
Skill using hand tools and test and evaluation equipment, including, but not limited to, electronic decelerometers, measuring wheels, wildlife control devices, firearms, and multiple radio systems.
Ability to exercise mental alertness at all times, sound judgment under pressure and in an emergency stressful situation.
Demonstrated writing skills in the drafting and updating of detailed manuals, contract specifications, and reports without extensive editing or close supervision.
Ability to organize and host meetings and presentations both in person and via teleconference or video conference.
