Job Summary: The Vice President, Concessions is responsible for developing and implementing short and long-term strategies to maximize revenue for MNAA to include overseeing in-terminal concessions, advertising/sponsorships, and rental car concessions.
Essential Responsibilities:
Leads strategic and business initiatives related to growing airport revenue areas, which includes in-terminal concessions, advertising/sponsorships, and rental car concessions.
Provides input to capital development plans to ensure proper planning of concession programs in future terminal projects.
Directs the development, drafting, negotiation, and implementation of all business plans and proposals, Requests for Proposals, contracts, leases, and agreements with concessionaires.
Establishes processes and procedures for ensuring compliance of concession contracts, leases and other agreements.
Identifies opportunities to increase non-aeronautical revenue, including exploration of new commercial ideas.
Responsible for developing, recommending and implementing strategic plans as they relate to rental auto revenue development and fit within the airport strategic goals and objectives. Accountable to ensure that approved Concessions Department strategic plans are executed and on schedule.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, mentoring, rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Establishes objectives, priorities, and assignments for Concessions Department team, monitors performance, effectiveness, and efficiency of Concessions Department staff.
Builds processes and procedures from the ground up to effectively manage the concessions team and accomplish its goals.
Utilizes technology and data analytics to measure, report and manage revenue and profitability for the airport.
Collaborates and communicates with other departments such as maintenance, engineering and design, strategic planning, and legal, as well as senior and executive
MNAA staff, to accomplish departmental objectives within the best interests of MNAA.
Provides input and manages against approved operating and capital improvement budgets for the Concessions Department.
Monitors the business performance of tenants and concessionaires to ensure compliance with contracts and MNAA’s strategic business plan.
Makes effective verbal and written presentations to the Authority executives, Board of Commissioners and community stakeholders as required.
Markets business opportunities to generate additional sources of revenue.
Proficient in understanding complex business, financial and legal provisions of concession agreements and ensuring their compliance.
Oversees industry research to ensure MNAA Concessions requests for proposals and contracts align with industry best practices and concession market conditions.
Ensures that procurement of Concession contracts are planned in advance, coordinated with appropriate stakeholders (e.g. Legal and Procurement) and include a focus on providing opportunities for small and minority businesses.
Works closely with airport business partners, the community and other internal departments to establish strong, positive working relationships and to align
Concession operations to Airport operational needs.
Manages a team of employees in the Concession department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the airport's policies and applicable laws.
Responsible for all coordination with both Airport Development and Landside Operations related to future facility development and day to day operational issues to make sure lease compliance issues are being adhered to.
Oversees the contract development and management of the on-airport rental auto concessions.
Follows all safety regulations.
Maintains regular and on-time attendance.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
7-10 years of experience in related field
Preferred:
Master's degree in a related field preferred.
Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Certified Member (CM) or Accredited Airport Executive (AAE).
