The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority is looking for a seasoned and experienced operations professional to join our team of Airport Duty Managers (ADM). The key words in that sentence are “seasoned,” and “experienced.” The ADM’s play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the airport, including airside, landside, and terminal activities. The ADM’s are responsible for maintaining full situational awareness around all facets of airport operations to ensure safe, efficient, and secure operations. Outside of regular business hours or during times when Executive Management is not present or available, the ADM’s are delegated the responsibility to act with the highest level of authority and are considered the overall airport decision-making authority. This role requires individuals to possess excellent leadership skills, advanced critical thinking and strategic thinking skills, independent and effective decision-making capabilities, timely and effective communication, and the ability to prioritize when there are competing urgent and non-urgent priorities.
Education | Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in aviation management, public administration or a closely related field. An equivalent combination of directly related airport safety, security, and operations experience and training may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis (e.g., one-year full-time experience will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester or (45) quarter units of college course work).
Four (4) years of full-time, increasingly responsible Airport Operations experience in an airport/aviation environment (e.g., airport, airbase, commercial aviation, and/or fixed base operations). Airport Duty Manager experience is strongly preferred.
Direct Experience with FAR Part 139 and TSR 1542 is preferred.
Required Certifications | Licenses
AAAE Airport Certified Employee (ACE)/Airport Operations or Certified Member (CM) designation (or ACI equivalent) is strongly preferred.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continuing employment.
Successfully obtain an Airport Security Coordinator certification within the first year of employment, and maintain such certifications thereafter, as a condition of continuing employment.
