The WMAA is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead its operations. This position involves the planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating of all airport administration, operations and strategic planning to ensure the highest level of safety, security and financial responsibility. The job includes policy interpretation, exercising judgment and leadership within a framework of policies, procedures, and laws, including, but not limited to, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and those promulgated by the Airport Authority. Successful performance requires applying public relations skills, and the exercise of initiative, tact, and independent judgment to ensure protection of lives and property, and the promotion of economic growth and development. Supervision is exercised over staff and position interacts with all retained professional consultants. The position involves functions tied to the successful operation of Southern Airways Express as part of a Transportation Services Agreement. Resumes accepted until December 15, 2024.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Aviation Management, and at least three (3) years of management experience, preferably in airport management, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Possession of credentialing with AAAE will be viewed favorably. A private pilots license is also desirable.
The Williamsport Regional Airport (IPT) is a commercial service airport that is governed by an Airport Authority consisting of a seven-member Williamsport Municipal Airport Authority (WMAA) appointed by the Lycoming County Commissioners. They have complete fiscal and organizational oversight of the airport and serve four-year terms, do not receive compensation.
